Statement (summary)
>extended version
Science and art are the modern descendants of magic (R. Shapley). All three subjects are of my interest when I explore human and mechanical movement in time and space. I have a fascination with the acts of looking and observing, which leads me to minimalist studies of phenomena and the poetry of the everyday. A contemplative view on mundane and urban environment often reveals my appeal to modernist aesthetics and compositions, while the focus on movement indicates my affection for choreography. To describe my attraction to phenomena and movement, my preferred choice of media spans from video to objects and on to room installations. Many years with focus on photography leave as much an impression on my work as my earlier vocational education in architecture. The results are often immersive and experiential environments created to share my fascinations, always driven by my urge to wonder.
